Maryland State Trooper injured in a collision with juvenile on Friday.

A juvenile struck a Maryland State Trooper shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Friday near Harford Road and Connolly Road close to Fallston.

The Trooper Scott Angstadt, 43 from Bel Air Barrack was traveling southbound on Harford Road when a female juvenile failed to stop at a stop sign on Connolly Road and crash into the troopers vehicle.

The trooper’s vehicle was destroyed. Angstadt was airlifted to Shock Trauma, where he was treated and released for broken ribs and sore back, neck and chest areas. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

The juvenile was also hospitalized for unknown injuries. Charges are pending against her.

Kevin Aldridge age 37 was killed when his Volkswagen Jetta struck a tree, in Howard Co.

A man was killed Wednesday when the vehicle he was driving struck a tree on Gorman Road, in North Laurel.

The driver, Kevin Michael Aldridge, 37, of the 3300 block of Old Line Avenue, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta east on Gorman Road, east of Murray Hill Road, at about 9 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway at a curve and struck a tree, Howard County Police announced Thursday.

Aldridge was transported to Greater Laurel Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police are still investigating the accident.

A teenage girl hit and killed by an Amtrak train on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2010

A 14 year old girl was hit and killed on Tuesday morning by an Amtrak train traveling from New York to Washington.

The detail of the accident and name of the girl was not immediately release. Baltimore County Police Lt. Robert McCullough said that there were children that knew the girl at the scene.

Amtrak spokeswoman Tracy Connell said trains were traveling in both directions but had to take turns using the single set of tracks after the accident

Amtrak halted all trains through the area near Essex, Maryland, to give investigators access to the scene. Authorities said the teen was hit at 9:02 a.m. ET.

The incident occurred around 11 miles north of the Baltimore, Maryland, rail station. Both Baltimore County Police and Amtrak were investigating.
