Truck driver charged in head-on collision with MSP detective

A Perdue tractor-trailer truck driver involved in a head-on collision with a state police detective Monday morning has been charged, according to investigators.

Maryland State Police have issued Joshua Burton Webb Jr., of Whaleyville, citations for failure to drive right of center and negligent driving.

Webb was traveling north on Hobbs Road, north of Route 50, around 8:05 a.m. when he crossed the double yellow line and crashed head-on into a marked state police Ford Crown Victoria driven by Det. Sgt. David Dalfonso who was traveling south, according to police.

Webb and Dalfonso, of the Princess Anne barrack, were transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for minor injuries, according to police.

Dalfonso has been released from the hospital, according to police.

Webb has also been treated and released from PRMC, according to hospital officials.
